Is it a Pie or a Triangle?

How do you think the divine and humanity really work together? Is it a ladder? Is it a hierarchy? Or is it a relationship? What is unconditional love from the Father? What does that really mean?
We live in a society that is addicted to the ladder. Our entire world is based on ladders and so the thought of a God actually sharing any of his divinity with us actually causes people to recoil. It sounds nice, and we sing it in church, but when you get right down to it the questions are still there and we all still find confusion. What the world says is loud, and even religious texts get confusing. Yet, Christ said that we would do even more amazing things than He. God said there is a spark of Him in each of us, and Christ said He lives in each of us. What does that really mean?
How did the trinity mean to include us, and why are we, lowly humans, in a position that even the Angels of the most High envy?
I wonder if instead of a ladder or a triangle the Trinity is more like a pie or a circle. This circle consisted of the Father, Son and Spirit. The three were full, and equal, and in perfect relationship, but they wanted even more of all that was Good, and to share the good they enjoy with more. And so the Son, in order to create gave up full divinity, and became man and divinity leaving a space. A space that one-day we may fill, one day when all is forgiven, and all tears are wiped away. Then and maybe then we will all be in perfect relationship with each other and with the Father, the Spirit and the Creator, the one who gave that we too might enjoy!
Happy Loving and Sitting!

I wonder if God actually wants to be intellectualized…is that what we are supposed to do? My thought has always been, since I was a little girl, that God wants my love. He wants me for his own. Period.
Where in the New Testament did Christ actually intellectualize the Father? He deferred to his Father’s wishes and loved him. As far as I can see, it has been mainly monks, Jesuits, converts to the Church who started process of intellectualizing of God.
Remember Thomas Merton, he of the Seven Mountains (sic)? If you read his biography, you will find him wandering off course…actually away from the God that he was seeking with such desperation. He was into Buddahism, etc. He lost his way. He was a proud man, proud of his thought processes. And he was allowed to travel, write letters, etc., because the monastery he had joined needed his fame in order to continue in existence. I forget how many men joined the order after Merton became famous. So, it was ok with the powers that be that Merton left the monastery premises and went off to study in his own way. They sort of aided and abetted Merton’s intellect dissecting God. The did not remain true to the philosophy and rules of their monastery.
I am glad simply to love God and pray that others will learn to love him also. God is Love. We want to please him as we would desire to please anyone we love with all our hearts. My personal opinion (I always have one as I am one of those “opinionated” people) is that one’s spiritual life is a simple thing.Or should be simple. We meditate on God and our mutual love for one another. Period. End of report. Part of our love is doing what God expects of us. And what is that? If we sincerely care, we know. That’s what a conscience is for.
My. So much talk of religion so early in the day.
